Down But Not Out

I was driving home from Lucy’s place on Thursday night and encountered this sight at the intersection of Marsden Rd and Stewart St on Metroad 6.

Traffic signals along the median strip knocked down, but still operating

Sure, the traffic signal had been knocked down, but why should that stop it from continuing to work? I waited till there was no traffic and listened carefully. Sure enough you could just make out it’s pained cry… “Never say die!”

I passed by the same intersection today, and it had been restored to its former glory, upright once more, with some new concrete put into the median strip. I’m fairly sure it was the same set of traffic signals ‘cos I swear I heard some singing. “I get knocked down, but I get up again…;)

Recent Adventures in Food and Drink

Here are some of the places I’ve been eating out at these past few months that I’ve neglected to mention. There are two here from Queensland that I visited with my Digital Media friends on our Noosa ’spring break’.

The Boathouse Floating Restaurant, Noosaville
The Boathouse is really on the Noosa River, as seen from the shore at Noosaville

(read on for reviews of the Galley at the Boathouse, Ivory Bar, Fish Face, Tapenade and Thai Foon…)

Reports of my Death have been Exaggerated

Hello everyone, I’m really sorry for my extended hiatus… I know I promised I’d be back in full-force in January, but alas. It’s not that I don’t love you, it’s just that work (have to avoid bankruptcy, you know), holiday time with my family and my girlfriend Lucy, and taking on the Presidency at the COFA Students’ Association have all led to a much more hectic January than I expected!

I’ve decided that this year I’m going to focus less on the long-written, over-edited essays I’ve been writing and more on just letting you know what I’ve been up to and what interesting things I’ve come across recently.

In the mean time though, I’m going to post a serious of ‘Recent Adventures in…’ posts to catch up with the months of blogging that I should have got around to earlier. So, without further ado…
